Material Characterization Assessment and Instrument
With the establishment of the Iron and Steel Industry Test Institute, analysis and testing, as the premise and guarantee for the research and development of metallurgical processes and materials, have gradually developed and expanded. Here, original testing technology systems, such as the P.R.C.’s material composition analysis, metal material fracture mechanics, microscopic characterization, material mechanics testing, non-destructive testing, metallurgical reference materials and high-throughput characterization, have been successively established.
Inspection, testing and certification, testing equipment, metrological calibration, reference materials, corrosion prevention and protection, proficiency verification, materials and test standards form a complete technical system for the quality infrastructure of the material industry, achieving the quality management of the whole life cycle of material R&D, manufacturing, and service. Thus, it promotes the overall upgrading of the quality of China’s material industry.
Since the beginning of the 14th Five -year Plan, CISRI has taken being a leader of the construction of quality infrastructure in the material industry as its mission. Guided by quality evaluation, based on standards, and supported by data characterization, CISRI has coordinated the development of measurement, standards, certification, accreditation, inspection, testing and other quality management elements. It provides overall solutions, leads the development of China’s material analysis and testing technology, and helps China’s material industry base become more advanced and supply chain achieve modern and high-quality development.
